Fashion Monsters: Viktor and Rolf S/S 2015 Couture

Today we met in the library to look at the collection and discuss idea's for our concept and photo shoot. Unfortunately Diandra couldn't make it so she wasn't able to give any input into our idea.

Here are a few images from the collection which have inspired our concept -

‘Hallucinogenic’ – Viktor and Rolf SS15 Couture

Our concept has been developed from the themes and influences used to create the Viktor and Rolf SS15 Couture collection. Firstly we pulled key words from the descriptive style.com review such as mutate, amplify, explode and hallucinogenic. We then looked deeper into the theme which was inspired by Van Gogh’s landscapes this lead us towards basing our concept around hallucination as all the landscapes were distorted and blurred.
We plan on keeping the over exaggerated silhouette but are moving away from the country girl feel, pulling colours from the collection and intensifying them to give them a hallucinogenic edge. The outfit we plan to create will be made up of bold block colours, a variety of textured fabrics, a large underskirt and head wear which will be the feature piece made up of varying sized flowers overtaking the models face.
We want the hallucinogenic feel to be felt in both the styling and post production using effects to create an unrealistic finish to the image. To make the image relate to the proposed concept in post-production we would like to duplicate the image on top of each other, which will create a staggered 3D effect, we were also thinking of adding motion blur into the images to blur certain parts out and guide you through the image, an effect that may work alongside our concept would be covering the lens with a transparent fabric such as a tight which will add a soft texture to the photograph, yet bring the bold bright colours through.

These are our accompanied images chosen by each of us:
